Christ Driving the Money-changers from the Temple — Histoire et analyse
Avec un sens théâtral du drame, Rembrandt capture le Christ nettoyant le Temple avec un fouet qu'il a fabriqué avec des cordes. Un bœuf en furie traîne son propriétaire, et une femme vendant un panier de colombes prend la fuite. Les changeurs de monnaie doivent en subir les conséquences : le Christ renverse leur table.
C'est en effet ainsi que cela est décrit dans la Bible.
