En utilisant une autre impression de l'eau-forte adjacente (RP-P-1910-2012), Segers a réalisé un contre-preuve : alors que l'encre était encore humide, il l'a imprimée sur une autre feuille de papier préparée avec un fond gris bleuté. Le contre-preuve est l'image inversée de l'eau-forte.
