Two salt-cellars with satyrs — Histoire et analyse
À travers les âges, le sel a été traité avec respect : il était coûteux et on lui attribuait des propriétés curatives. Les salières étaient donc souvent des œuvres d'art ornées, fabriquées à partir de matériaux coûteux. Ces salières ont une forme triangulaire de base.
Chaque coin est constitué d'un satyre ou d'un faune, une créature mythologique avec un corps humain et les jambes, les oreilles et les cornes d'une chèvre.
