Utilizzando un'altra impressione dell'incisione adiacente (RP-P-1910-2012), Segers realizzò una controprova: mentre l'inchiostro era ancora umido, la stampò su un altro foglio di carta preparato con uno sfondo grigio bluastro. La controprova è l'immagine speculare dell'incisione.
