The Shelling of ’s-Hertogenbosch by the French — Storia e analisi

Su richiesta dei Patrioti, un esercito francese invase la Repubblica Olandese nel settembre del 1794. Dopo un assedio durato più di due settimane, ’s-Hertogenbosch fu catturata il 10 ottobre. La città fu bombardata – anche di notte – con cannoni posizionati dai francesi.

Per tenere lontani gli attaccanti, un'ampia area intorno alla città fu allagata.
