Bust of William of Orange — 歴史と豆知識
オレンジ公ウィリアムは1584年に暗殺されました。フィリップ2世がこの暗殺を命じましたが、彼は自国を取り戻すことはありませんでした。1588年、オランダの北部は正式に共和国となります。オレンジ公は祖国の父と見なされています。このウィリアムの胸像は、彼の死後35年に建設されたデルフトの新教会の墓にある肖像に基づいています。
