Adriaen van Wesel fue uno de los más importantes talladores de madera del norte de los Países Bajos, conocido mucho más allá de su ciudad natal de Utrecht. Su obra incluye grandes altares para iglesias en Delft, Zwolle, 's-Hertogenbosch y Utrecht. La mayoría de las obras sobrevivientes de Van Wesel se conservan en el Rijksmuseum.
