Equestrian statue of Stadtholder-King William III — 歴史と豆知識
1689年、ウィリアム3世とメアリーはイングランドを侵略した後、共同の国王と女王となりました。ウィリアムはオランダのスタッドホルダーでもありました。この小さな騎馬像は、現在ブリストルにある彫刻をモデルにしており、国王がローマの将軍の姿で表現されています。実際、ウィリアムは馬術が得意ではありませんでした。1702年、彼は馬から落ちて怪我が原因で亡くなりました。
