Equestrian statue of Stadtholder-King William III — Histoire et analyse
Après avoir envahi l'Angleterre, Guillaume III et Marie devinrent roi et reine conjoint en 1689. Guillaume resta également stathouder des Pays-Bas. Cette petite statue équestre, modelée d'après une sculpture maintenant à Bristol, montre le roi sous les traits d'un général romain.
En réalité, Guillaume était un cavalier médiocre. En 1702, il tomba de son cheval et mourut de ses blessures.
