The painting is shown in Bohushallen, Bohusläns museum. Karin Taube was born on Vinga outside Gothenburg on 4 March 1900. She was the daughter of Master Carl Gunnar Taube and his husband Julia Sofia Jacobsdotter. Storasyster was Märta Taube, sculptor, who came to marry the artist Ivan Ivarson.
The big brother was Evert Taube, the national court. She had three more brothers working as sea captains. In the years 1926-1929 she studied at Valand Målar School, Gothenburg, under Tor Bjurström’s leadership. After a long artist’s life, as one of the few women among the street schoolteachers, she died on 4 January 1984.
