Rembrandt continuó alterando la plancha. Esta impresión muestra cuán oscura es realmente la composición cuando la plancha se imprime sin el generoso tono de la impresión a la izquierda. Rembrandt aclaró el borde sobre la tumba, de modo que los dos cráneos que descansan sobre ella puedan distinguirse nuevamente.
