The Presentation in the Temple — Historia y Análisis
Alrededor de 1654, Rembrandt representó cuatro eventos en la vida de Cristo en el mismo formato, prestando especial atención a la luz. En esta primera impresión de la serie, se muestra al anciano Simeón sosteniendo al recién nacido Jesús en el Templo. Se da cuenta de que el infante es el Salvador tan esperado.
Rembrandt dejó una fina capa de tinta en la impresión (tono de superficie), haciendo que la escena emergiera de una misteriosa semioscuridad.
