Whirling Dervishes — Historia y Análisis
Los derviches ocupaban un lugar especial en la tolerante Estambul religiosa. A través de la oración, la música y la danza extática, intentaban entrar en trance y así contactar con Alá. Dos veces a la semana realizaban esta ceremonia de danza, que los visitantes podían observar.
Vanmour debió sentarse regularmente en la galería para estudiar el giro de los derviches.
