Ambassador Cornelis Calkoen at his Audience with Sultan Ahmed III — Histoire et analyse
L'audience réelle a eu lieu dans les quartiers privés du sultan au palais. Après le repas avec le grand vizir, Calkoen et sa suite ont reçu des kaftans en signe d'hospitalité, mais aussi pour couvrir les vêtements des 'non-croyants'. Ahmed est assis sur un trône, avec quatre princes à ses côtés.
Calkoen prononce un discours et présentera ensuite ses lettres de créance au sultan.
