Portrait of a Woman, Probably Maria Trip (1619-1683) — Histoire et analyse
Le modèle est probablement Maria Trip, âgée de 20 ans. Elle venait d'une famille extrêmement riche impliquée dans le commerce des armes. Ici, elle affiche sa richesse dans toute sa splendeur : elle porte un col en dentelle fine, une broche avec des boucles d'oreilles assorties, et une fortune en perles.
L'éventail pliant chinois dans sa main gauche était encore un accessoire très rare et donc précieux en 1639.
