Le scene incise e in rilievo sulla brocca e sul bacino ritraggono le vittorie degli olandesi nella loro battaglia con la Spagna. Il primo successo, il Riscatto di Alkmaar, risale al 1573, e l'ultimo è la battaglia navale di Gibilterra nel 1607. Il fulcro abbagliante del bacino è il trionfo del Principe Maurizio nella battaglia di Nieuwpoort nel 1600.
