The Ringball-player — História e Análise
O homem empurrando uma bola está jogando ringball. Neste jogo, uma bola deve ser passada através de um anel no final de uma rua. No século XVII, era um passatempo popular, e as ruas frequentemente estavam localizadas perto de tabernas e pousadas.
As figuras restantes são, portanto, sem dúvida, clientes de taverna, que Rembrandt desenhou de forma excepcionalmente livre na placa de gravação.
