Memorial Portrait of Moses ter Borch — Historia y Análisis
Moisés murió en 1667 durante la toma del Fuerte Languard cerca de Felixstowe en Inglaterra. No mucho después, Gerard y Gesina pintaron esta imagen en memoria de su hermano menor. Gerard pintó el retrato de Moisés, Gesina el fondo y los objetos.
Estos aluden a la muerte heroica de Moisés y a la transitoriedad de la vida, como el tiempo (el reloj de bolsillo), la muerte (el cráneo), la eternidad (la hiedra en las rocas) y la lealtad (los perros).
