Reclining Youth — Historia y Análisis

Van den Eeckhout fue alumno de Rembrandt desde 1635 hasta 1641. Continuó dibujando en el estilo de su maestro durante mucho tiempo. También realizó un fascinante grupo de estudios de figuras en pincel y aguada, siendo el más destacado este joven retratado de manera suelta.

Tales estudios dibujados libremente eran, sin duda, el tipo de trabajo que prefería hacer, ya que en ese momento, los artistas comparaban trabajar para editores con trabajo esclavo.
