En el fondo izquierdo vemos a Dios (una nube con rostro y manos humanas) advirtiendo a Adán y Eva. Pueden comer el fruto de todos los árboles, excepto el árbol de 'la conocimiento del bien y del mal'. Tentados por la serpiente (con un torso humano), Adán y Eva, sin embargo, comen el fruto prohibido, por lo que fueron expulsados del Paraíso.
