View of the Temple of ‘Juno’ at Paestum — Historia y Análisis
Piranesi es mejor conocido por sus grandes grabados de Roma y sus alrededores, que estaban destinados a la venta a turistas. Este dibujo presenta un templo griego en el sur de Italia. La composición fue cuidadosamente pensada con una sucesión rítmica de columnas que atraviesan el plano de la imagen en diagonal.
Se hizo hincapié en los efectos de luz y sombra y en el desmoronamiento irregular del mármol. Pastores con ganado crean una atmósfera pastoral.
