Three Women and a Child by a Door — Histoire et analyse
Rembrandt prenait un plaisir visible à dessiner des scènes domestiques de femmes et d'enfants. Les collectionneurs, eux aussi, étaient clairement charmés par ces œuvres. Lorsque le peintre et collectionneur Jan van de Cappelle est décédé en 1679, il a laissé derrière lui un album contenant 135 dessins « représentant la vie des femmes avec des enfants par Rembrandt ».
Peut-être que ce splendide dessin en faisait partie.
