Portrait of Joris van Egmond — Storia e analisi

Dall'iscrizione sulla cornice originale, sappiamo che questo è un ritratto del nobile Joris van Egmond. Trovò favore presso l'Imperatore Carlo V e nel 1535 divenne Vescovo di Utrecht. Van Egmond fu un importante mecenate per artisti, tra cui Van Scorel, che dipinse il suo protettore su un pannello di formato eccezionalmente ampio.
