The Old Town Hall of Amsterdam — Storia e analisi
Saenredam basò questo dipinto su un disegno che aveva realizzato sedici anni prima. Sulla scala del portico, annotò che il fatiscente municipio era nel frattempo stato distrutto da un incendio e sostituito da uno nuovo e monumentale (ora il Palazzo in Piazza Dam). Dal 1658 questo dipinto è stato appeso nella sala maestosa dei sindaci nel nuovo Municipio come un ricordo del vecchio edificio.
