Una luce brillante e chiara riempie questa chiesa, in cui – per caso – si sta predicando un sermone dal pulpito. Saenredam ha creato un senso di spazio con il suo uso coerente della prospettiva, in cui tutte le linee ortogonali convergono nello stesso punto. Questa chiesa era speciale per il pittore: non solo era nato ad Assendelft, ma la lapide di suo padre, Jan Saenredam, con un'iscrizione, può essere vista in primo piano a destra.
