Medea, or the Marriage of Jason and Creusa — Storia e analisi
Scritto da Jan Six, la tragedia Medea debuttò nel 1647. Rembrandt progettò la copertina per il dramma stampato. La scena che ha rappresentato, per inciso, non appare in essa: ha solo riassunto la trama.
In primo piano a destra c'è Medea, abbandonata dal marito, Giasone, che sposa la principessa Creusa sul palco sopra. Medea inflisse una terribile vendetta su di loro.
