Bust of Piet Heyn — 歴史と豆知識
ピエト・ヘインは若い頃に水夫になりました。彼が15歳の時、スペイン人に捕らえられ、2年間ガレー奴隷として仕えさせられました。解放された後、ヘインは商船業界でのキャリアを追求し、オランダ西インド会社で高い地位を占めました。1628年、彼はキューバの海岸でスペインの宝船艦隊（「銀の艦隊」として知られる）を捕らえました。1年後、彼は海で亡くなりました。
