Christ at Emmaus — Historia y Análisis
Tres días después de que Cristo resucitara de entre los muertos, dos de sus discípulos lo encontraron en el camino a Emaús. Solo se dieron cuenta de la verdadera identidad de su compañero de viaje al compartir una comida juntos más tarde ese día. Este es el momento que Rembrandt representa aquí.
Para el espectador, también está claro que la figura sentada bajo una especie de dosel y emanando una luz celestial solo puede ser Cristo.
