Indian, 1584
Daswanth (also Dasavant) was a painter at the Mughal court of the emperor Akbar; he died in 1584. He worked on the Hamzanama, the emperor's great illustrated book of the adventures of Hamza, and the MAK in Vienna tentatively credits him with its page Umar Defeats a Dragon.
