Georges de La Tour was a Baroque painter from the Duchy of Lorraine, born in Vic-sur-Seille on 13 March 1593. La Tour worked in Lunéville and died there on 30 January 1652. La Tour's paintings include Joseph the Carpenter, The Dream of Saint Joseph, The Newborn and The Adoration of the Shepherds in the Louvre.
