Hashim was a portrait painter at the Mughal court, active from about 1598 to 1654. An inscription on Jahangir with a Portrait of Akbar, now in the Louvre, records that Hashim painted it and that Abu’l Hasan (Nadir al-Zaman) retouched the face.
