Spanish, 1461
Lluís Dalmau (died c. 1461) was a painter from Valencia who worked in Barcelona in the service of King Alfonso V of Aragon. In 1431 the king sent him to Flanders to learn the new realist painting of the Low Countries. His Virgin of the Councillors, commissioned in 1443 for the chapel of Barcelona's city hall and completed in 1445, is his best-known surviving work.
