Mališa Glišić

Serbian, 1886–1916

Mališa Glišić was a Serbian painter active in the early 20th century and recognized as one of the forerunners of Serbian Impressionism alongside Nadežda Petrović and Kosta Miličević. He received his education in Belgrade and Munich and created works in Italy until the First Balkan War, after which he returned to Serbia and joined the army. Glišić died in either 1915 or 1916 under unexplained circumstances, and very few written documents or preserved artworks remain.
