Draw-leaf table — History & Facts
The two leaves under the tabletop can be pulled out, hence the name ‘draw-leaf table’. When these withdrawing leaves are fully extended, the top drops down between them. The table’s length is thus doubled. Draw-leaf tables were fixtures in the homes of affluent citizens during the 17th century.
This is an exceptionally luxurious example, with carving on the baluster legs.
