Slop bowl — History & Facts
When taking tea, frequently different types of tea were tasted. To do so, the teacups were rinsed out in slop bowls. This one is an example of the finest blue-and-white porcelain for sale in the northern Netherlands around 1700.
Such a bowl could also be part of a group of decorative porcelain objects displayed on a cabinet.
