Persian, 1535
Kamal ud-Din Behzad (about 1455/60–1535) was a Persian painter and head of the royal workshops in Herat and later Tabriz, in the late Timurid and early Safavid periods. He is regarded as the high point of Persian miniature painting; one of his best-known works is The Seduction of Yusuf in a 1488 manuscript of Sa'di's Bustan. Because his style was widely copied, many attributions to him are still debated.
