Literature: Swedish Artist Taxicon Part IV (1961). Märta Rudbeck (1882 - 1933) was a student at Althin’s compulsory school, Stockholm between 1899 - 1901 and the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts 1901 - 1906. During 1908 - 1909 she studied for various artists in Paris. She was a member of the Swedish Artists' Association.
She is known mainly for her flower paintings and portraits. At the Baltic Exhibition in Malmö in 1914, she was represented with three portraits and a floral motif. In the Annual Report of the Uddevalla Museum 1931: During the month of March, the canopy gallery was used for individual exhibition. Trenne Artists, the Seeks Branded Rudebäck [Rudbeck] and Anna Ödman from Stockholm and Fanny Peterson from Holma showed here samples of truly good art, the former two mainly portraiture painting and the latter landscape painting.
The exhibition was spoken and widely welcomed.
