Tea caddy (chaire) — History & Facts
The little containers for the finely ground green tea used in the Japanese tea ceremony are kept in specially made bags (fukuro). They also feature during the ceremony itself. A container can have several bags, each befitting the occasion of the tea ceremony or the season in which it is held.
