Anna Boberg

Swedish, 1864–1935

Anna Boberg (1864–1935) was a Swedish artist who worked in painting, ceramics, textiles, set design, and writing. Born into an artistic family, she was largely self-taught but briefly studied painting in Paris, where she met her future husband, architect Ferdinand Boberg. She became known for her paintings of northern Norway, especially the Lofoten area, which she visited frequently after 1901. Boberg also designed ceramics and textiles, including the Peacock Vase for Rörstrand, and exhibited her work internationally, including at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
