Casket — History & Facts
This casket exudes an air of luxury in every way. Its sides are faced with steel plates ornamented with a pattern of strapwork and foliage scrolls. The plates are set within finely worked gilt bronze mounts.
The front opens, revealing nine little drawers of various sizes that were probably meant to hold jewellery or other small precious objects.
