Console table — History & Facts
The four legs of this table represent the Four Seasons. Because it is a console table meant to be placed against a wall, the two back figures are turned towards the front. The gilding of the table is very worn, so the red underlayer shows through in places.
Originally, the piece must have looked as if it was made of gold, or silver gilt.
