Two candlesticks — History & Facts

Adam Loofs was silversmith and silver steward to Stadtholder William III. After having worked for King Louis XIV in Paris, he moved to The Hague in 1680. These candlesticks may have been made for William III.

They are based directly on the silver furnishings and other objects at Versailles.
