Cupboard — History & Facts
This is one of the most richly ornamented Dutch cupboards from the 17th century. The turned columns are solid ebony. The ‘cushion mouldings’, or rectangular protrusions resembling well-stuffed feather pillows on the outside of the doors, provide space for a set of small drawers on the inside.
The interior of the cupboard is veneered with decorative patterns of ebony, rosewood, and amaranth.
