Art Deco Art: Posters, Prints and Paintings, Page 2

Art Deco is a style of design and decoration that took shape in France before the First World War and flourished in the 1920s and 1930s across Europe and the United States. It is named after the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, and it favored geometric forms, vibrant color and luxury, drawing on Cubism, ancient Egyptian art and modern ships, trains and cars. Its poster artists include Leonetto Cappiello, Roger Broders, Jean d'Ylen and Edward McKnight Kauffer.
